Final preparations are being made for the grand opening of the new Residence Inn by Marriott on Spartanburg’s west side.
The 105-suite Residence Inn at 109 Residence Drive at Westgate Center is scheduled to open Friday afternoon. General Manager Christopher Giaimo walked through the suites Tuesday to conduct inspections and make sure everything is ready for the opening.
“We are very excited,” Giaimo said. “A lot of time and effort has gone into this. Plans started in 2016, and we’re look forward to inviting our guests.”
Giaimo said there’s already been interest in bookings and he anticipates the opening to go well.
Residence Inn will operate as a Marriott franchise and is owned and managed by Pinnacle Hospitality.
“We are pleased with the continued growth of Residence Inn hotels in the Spartanburg area,” Diane Mayer, Residence Inn vice president and global brand manager, said in a statement. “When on the road for an extended period, our guests need space to spread out, maintain their life’s pace and restore their energy to help them maintain a healthy balance and routine while traveling. This new hotel offers them a seamless blend of modern style and functionality that allows them to settle in and thrive.”
