Our Story
Our story started in 1992 with a bold idea in a nondescript building in Roebuck, South Carolina. The idea that came to Sam and Geeta Shanbhag was that they wanted to start a company that reflected their own personalities.
Fueled with a curious and entrepreneurial spirit, the Shanbhag’s set out to build and operate a 79-room roadside motel. While the Days Inn Duncan South Carolina is no longer operated by Pinnacle, it remains an enduring part of our story and journey into hospitality and development.
Pinnacle is unique in that we were founded as a small family business, and as we have grown, we have carried forward the values of which the company was created. That means there is no shortage of trust, integrity, and support. Beyond putting resources around someone to allow them to grow and lead, we are equally committed to creating a setting that provides for a true work-life balance. This balance is what allows our team to stay mentally fresh, creative, and passionate about the task at hand.
